Remembering Humanitas Board Member John Sacret Young
Please join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend John Sacret Young.
John led an extraordinary life. From "China Beach" to "Firefly Lane," he was one of television's most prolific and highly-regarded producers. In addition to his many gifts as a writer, director, and showrunner, John cared deeply about the people with whom he worked, delighted in creating opportunities for others, and gave generously of himself as a mentor.
At Humanitas, John was a longtime member of our Board of Directors, where he worked tirelessly in support of our mission to honor and celebrate stories that matter--and the people who tell them.
The Humanitas Board of Directors released the following statement:
"We mark the profound loss of John Sacret Young, a colleague, mentor, raconteur, scourge, and most of all dear friend to many in the Humanitas family -- an organization John loved through four decades of commitment and service. His achievements are too many to mention, as are his generosities. He leaves a hole we cannot fill."
Rest in peace, John. We will always be grateful for the quality of your character, your contributions to our organization, and the amazing legacy you leave behind, both on and off the screen.
