New Voices Live
On March 18, Humanitas presented New Voices Live, a staged reading of selected scenes from the 2022-2023 New Voices film and television scripts.
New Voices Fellowship is a four-month mentorship program for emerging television and screenwriters. The program is committed to identifying and empowering five writers each year who are unrepresented and are currently working on a 30- or 60-minute pilot or feature film screenplay that upholds the mission of Humanitas. Humanitas partnered with the USC School of Dramatic Arts’ Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion to present the work of our Fellows in a concert staged reading, directed by Anita Dashiell-Sparks, USC SDA’s Associate Dean of EDI & Vice Chair of Performance.
The stories will be embodied and imagined by graduate and undergraduate student-performers across USC SDA’s BA, BFA, and MFA programs. Featured performers are: Grayson Abdalla, Jordan Anderson, Parker Bond, Alcides Costa, Coby Hawkins, Beryl Liu, Aneesa Monet, Rihanna Rios, Kalalapa Winter, Sammie Zenoz, Kaixiang Zhang.
This event was held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00PM PT to celebrate our Fellows and their work, live and on stage at the renowned Dynasty Typewriter at the Hayworth (2511 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, 90057).
100% of proceeds from this event benefited the Humanitas New Voices Fellowship Program.
